What is mechanical design?

More than just a 3D model.

Mechanical design transforms an idea or concept into a concrete engineering solution: components, materials, dimensions, tolerances, assembly and the information required for manufacturing.

A 3D model is only part of the project. For a solution to be manufactured and used in real-world conditions, an engineering approach to the whole system is required.

Design for manufacturing

We design with manufacturing in mind.

A part may look perfect in CAD, yet still be difficult or expensive to manufacture.

That is why, during the design phase, we take into account – depending on the application – the materials, manufacturing technologies, tolerances, assembly and the availability of components.

The aim is to develop a solution that not only looks good in 3D, but can also be manufactured under real-world conditions.
